A short video posted on Twitter by the account @Updates_SThings shows Stranger Things alumni Finn Wolfhard and Caleb McLaughlin strolling down a Chicago street before stopping abruptly and staring at something off‑camera. The clip, roughly 20 seconds long, has been widely shared across fan forums and social media platforms.
The sudden appearance of the two actors together has reignited hopes that the series may return with a secret ninth episode. Some fans point to the "Confirmity Gate" theory—suggesting the season‑5 finale was a vision created by the antagonist Vecna and that a true conclusion could follow—though no official confirmation exists.
Video of the duo goes viral
The speculation mirrors reactions to HBO’s surprise extra episode of "IT: Welcome to Derry" released on Halloween, prompting observers to wonder why Netflix might not follow suit. However, the source notes that there is no concrete evidence that Netflix plans another Stranger Things installment at this time.
Other explanations offered by fans include the possibility that Wolfhard and McLaughlin are filming a holiday‑season commercial, perhaps tied to Thanksgiving football games, or that they could be preparing a sketch for "Saturday Night Live." Both ideas remain unverified beyond the visual evidence of the on‑set footage.
Fans debate a secret episode
In the meantime, the full Stranger Things series remains available for streaming on Netflix, and fans can continue to follow official channels for any future announcements.
